PSA Player News

PSA has two young men who will be playing on a South Jersey Soccer League Select Team this summer. This program provides an opportunity for players to challenge themselves, improve their skills and compete against some top flight competition. It is structured as a high level learning environment that focuses on individual and team skill development, sportsmanship and having fun. The teams are made up of a select group of players, based on tryouts that were held in December. The coach(es) are NOT affiliated with any SJSL team however each coach(es) and professional trainer(s) are SJSL approved by the SJSL Executive Board.

Ryan Cruice - U-13: Ryan has been playing soccer since he was 5, participated in PSA's U6 program for two years, moved into the in-town league for a number of years and then onto travel. Ryan has turned into a very solid and skilled player, both with his defensive style as well as his offensive skills. His unselfish attitude and his ability to see the field has made him a smart player. Ryan and his abilities has provided many enjoyable moments for spectators as well as his coaches and his teammates.

Logan Johnston - U-14: Logan also started playing soccer at a very young age with PSA's U6 program, he played in PSA's in-town, and then moved into travel. Logan is also a key contributor to the success of his PSA team with his solid two way playing style. He is a very strong defensive player and a very dangerous offensive player. He is an intimidating factor as soon as he steps foot on the field due to his size and speed.

Both these young men are one of 16 or 17 players chosen for their respected South Jersey Soccer League Select Team. These teams consists of the chosen few who wished to tryout from all the teams in South Jersey. The teams will begin their practice sessions in May, and will be participating in at least 3 of the following Tournaments:

  • Ocean Township, Ocean NJ - June 8th and 9th
  • Rider Cup, Lawrenceville NJ / Fort Dix - June 15th and 16th
  • Lehigh Valley Steamroll, Allentown PA - July 6th and 7th
  • Central Jersey Invitational, Fort Dix - July 20th and 21st
  • MAPS and CAPS - July 27th and 29th

Also worth mentioning that Logan and Ryan were teammates for a year at the U6 program and both are good friends off the field. Both these young men have a very bright future in the game and both will make PSA extremely proud of them.
